The Ondine Association works to enable the Balearic Sea to recover its rich biodiversity
The Ondine Association is an organisation for marine conservation that works to enable the Balearic Sea to recover its rich biodiversity and prosper in harmony with an equally prosperous, environmentally aware and proactive local population. Through the participation of local communities and many sectors, Ondine concentrates its efforts on creating a network of marine protected areas and reducing plastic pollution in the Balearic Islands.
The Ondine Association’s programme Dos Manos (“Two Hands”) is aimed at young people in schools in the Balearics. With workshops in class and field trips, children learn about the threats to the marine environment and come up with solutions. After a successful first year and the interest shown by the schools, Marilles has decided to lend its aid again to Ondine so it can continue with this programme and if possible extend it.
